Lucifer's Fall by Kaos-Nest Lucifer's Fall by Kaos-Nest
Left-handed pic:
i cut my right thumb with glass, so i need a week of "relax".

my obsession with Lucifer ([link]) due to old italian (only? tell me) misbelief: left-handed people was cursed by devil, so they need to improve writing (and doing other things) with right hand to fight him.
and it isn't too old to. my mother was corrected and many of her generation.

pen and marker.

I'd just to like to say I love your work and have a lot of respect for your skills, particularly with realistic, three-dimensional pencil shading and cross-hatching. You have such an acute attention-for-detail - I love your detailed stuff - but I have to say Lucifer's Fall is one of my top favourites for its sketchiness, the sheer, frenzied, ragged emotion. Keep up the good work!

Thanks a lot, I feel the same with this one. It's curious, because it has something that there isn't in my right handed drawings. In fact I was trying to draw the same subject in the same pose with my main hand,  but i just dumped those sketches.
By the way don't say "pencil" again, I still have an emotional block to bring pencil in my drawing even only for sketching.

You mean you drew this with your non-dominant hand? That's amazing.

Oh, my mistake *sees now that you draw in pen*

Yup, I don't do often because I just don't think about. When I played judo I hurt a lot my right arm/hand/shoulder, so like I took the habit to play more with my left side, I did the same at drawing. The first time I had pain for six months, I could go crazy without drawing. :P
As I said, I was trying to draw Lucifer with my main hand but I broke a glass. By the way that was not the first time I drew Lucifer/demon themed drawing with the left hand, they're in my notebooks. In the past left-handed people were considered cursed by devil, so there is my fixation.

Hm, this is an interesting point. I've tried drawing with my left hand before and of course, it's not the same as the right, and that frustrated me. If I hurt my right hand and couldn't draw, it'd drive me crazy, but trying to draw with my left and having no choice would still drive me nuts as first as well. But maybe the point's not to try and emulate what the right can do, but to create a different style with your left? Since it won't ever be exactly the same, and you could still create something you can be proud of like you did, only in a different style.

You get it, I get frustrated as well if I try to emulate my main hand. I have a total different feel with my left hand that I can hardly explain since I have a lot of control with the right one. In fact I draw very instinctively, without thoughts, I often enjoy music in that time. When I try with the other one, I have no idea of why I can't draw a straight line! I have to point out that I have difficulties with my main too at drawing straight lines, but long ones. For example, when I need to draw one (I seriously hate use the ruler) I must draw a lot of smaller lines together. This thing made me a little more open minded toward my undisciplined hand. I didn't try to force a movement but I tried to understand how my left hand was accustomed to move. After all, I thought that maybe I didn't want a simple replacement for my main hand. Probably this pic is a "clever" example www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi… (don't be scared about the link, it comes from my FB page)

I really like this drawing, it's really lively. But yeah, I think you've hit on an interesting idea there, trying to understand the left hand and how it's used to moving. I think I'll try that myself! I've been wanting to train and use my left hand more anyway.

It's pretty hard to draw a long straight line without a ruler anyway.

This is pretty awesome, although I'd love to see this without the DA logo.
